Editorial vignettes

All five full-bleed modules stacked in one place for side-by-side evaluation. Raman at the top is the reference.

reference · optics

RamanDivider

The reference. Single axis, 2–3 thin curves that rise on scroll. One gesture; specificity comes from real wavenumbers + a compound pair that tells a juxtaposition story.

§ 00 · scale of particles

ScaleSpectrum

Current weakness: four floating capability bars repeat the page's own section structure and clutter the reference row below. Direction: strip the bars, keep the log axis + seven reference objects, add one "where microplastics live" bracket.

§ 02 · T-junction

DropletFlow

Current weakness: four droplet colors read as rainbow; chevron arrows plus drops plus scope rings is a lot of motion at once. Direction: one droplet color, drop the chevrons, keep the scope + live counter (strongest element).

§ 03 · DNA sequencer

SangerChromatogram

Current weakness: 60 bases is too dense, letters shrink to 0.55rem on mobile; infinite cursor sweep + letter pulse loop is the only continuously animated UI on the page. Direction: shorten to ~20–24 bases, drop the cursor, keep the one-shot peaks reveal.

§ 04 · wavelength absorber

CanopyLight

Current weakness: colored-dot rain reads as decorative rather than spectroscopic, and it never settles. Direction: replace with an actual chlorophyll-a/chl-b absorption spectrum — one wavelength axis (400–700 nm), two curves with peaks at ~430 and ~660 nm, a visible-spectrum color bar anchoring the axis.
